Orders placed with the Centralsteel.com e-Commerce Store are encrypted using SSL (Secure Socket Layer) technology. SSL is a security protocol that prevents eavesdropping, tampering, or message forgery over the Internet. With SSL on both your web browser and Central Steel & Wire servers, information sent via the Internet can be trusted to arrive privately and unaltered to Central Steel & Wire only.
In order for SSL security to work, you must have an SSL capable browser. To verify that you do, open your browser and look to see that it has SSL 2.0 and 3.0 settings selected.
Microsoft's Internet Explorer: Select Tools, then Internet Options and finally the Advanced tab. Scroll to the end where the security settings are. SSL 2.0 and SSL 3.0 should be checked.
Mozilla's Firefox: Select Tools, then Options, then the Advanced Tab, and then the Encryption subtab. Under Protocols, SSL 2.0 and/or SSL 3.0 should be checked.
For more information about SSL, see Mozilla's or Microsoft's website.
